KATRA, Nov 3: The new office of the Income Tax department was inaugurated here today at Ward 2 (5) by the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu.
Apart from Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Sangeeta Gupta, the inauguration function was attended by CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Shiv Kumar, SP Rajiv Kotwal, President Chamber of Commerce Jammu Rakesh Gupta and President Retailer Traders Federation, Jammu Yash Pal Gupta, Addl CIT KVK Singh and other officers of the Department along with number of prominent citizens of Katra town.
Prior to the inauguration function, the meeting was held in the conference hall of the DC Reasi, which was also attended by Addl. DC Reasi Shiv Kumar Gupta and other prominent citizens of the town and also a large number of local tax payers.
Speaking on the occasion, Sageeta Gupta said that henceforth the tax payers are not required to travel to Udhampur or Jammu to get their income tax related problem solved as the department has established its office at Katra. The Principal Commissioner of Income Tax also pointed out that at present the tax can be deposited online at any place and there is no requirement to visit the bank branch for deposit of tax. |
