Banihal, Nov 3: The traffic Jam on Jammu Srinagar national highway has become a routine especially near the towns situated along the highway.
Wrong parking, bad condition of roads and overtaking of light vehicles, breakdown of heavy vehicles have been identified as some of the reasons for the jams from Jawahar tunnel Banihal to Patnitop sector of the highway.
It is also tough for the traffic authorities to maintain and regulate continuous flow of traffic on highway due to shortage of man power available on highway. Police also help the traffic police to tackle the traffic mess but due to the wrong parking of vehicles in towns like Banihal, Ramban, Kud and other places, it becomes very difficult on the highway besides overtaking of light vehicles adds more difficulties for traffic police to maintain the system on ground beside the bad condition of road.
The problem gets grave during the fruit season due to heavy flow of traffic. The passengers, children, women and elderly people are also inconvenienced. |
