Abhinav Theatre re-inauguration shortly 11/3/2015 11:04:05 PM Early Times Report Jammu Oct 3: Hub of cultural activities, Abhinav Theatre which was closed in 2012 for repairs/renovation is likely to be re-inaugurated by the end of this month. While taking to Early Times, Addl. Secretary Cultural Academy Jammu Dr.Arvinder Singh informed that almost all the relevant work pertaining to renovation of Abhinav Theatre has been completed with installation of new comfortable chairs, lights and sound system equipped with latest modern technology, stage, new curtains, back stage green rooms, additional well furnished changing cabin for artists fitted with mirrors. He further informed that fire fighting measures have been installed to avert untoward incident besides the old air conditioning system has been replaced with new modern system making the theatre centrally air-conditioned. Dr Amn further informed Early Times that Chief Minister of the State is very particular for opening Abhinav Theatre as earlier Tagore Hall in Srinagar was put to operation after renovation for use by the Artists adding that Secretary Cultural Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini, made painstaking efforts to get the renovation work geared up which was possible by the direct involvement and interest taken by Minister for Culture and Finance as well as MoS Culture. A group of artists headed by Romesh Chib, Director, Bhartiya Kala Sangam expressed their happiness for ensuing inauguration of the Abhinav Theatre. He said that in absence of this theatre, the Cultural Organizations in Jammu had a very tough time to organize cultural shows for all these years in terms of the rent of other theatres in Jammu which is very exorbitant and they could not afford easily adding further that registered clubs with the Cultural Academy get adequate subsidy for booking of the Abhinav Theatre which is a centrally located venue and easily accessible to the public for witnessing shows.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
