Burglars giving sleepless nights to police, six thefts in two days | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 3: Notwithstanding the tall claims of the police to be tough against thieves, it seems the gangs of thieves is all set to put police on its heels as they targeted six places including a showroom, a house and a tourist in separate incidents at different places within two days. Police sources today said that burglars decamped with Rs 2.60 lakh cash from MR Textiles Purani Mandi Old Hospital Road. Meanwhile, last night some unidentified thieves barged into house of Som Raj son of Ram Chander at Channi Himmat when he was visiting his relatives. Quoting complainant, Police sources said that Som Raj claimed that the thieves have escaped with Rs 17, 000 cash and some valuables including gold ornaments. Sources further said that a tourist identified as Harinder Singh s/o Ujjagar Singh of Uttar Pradesh along with his family hired two rooms in a top hotel on Residency Road and alleged that this morning he found his costly watch worth Rs around Rs 6 lakh stolen from the room. Pertinently, a night before yesterday burglars targeted three shops in Gandhi Nagar area making six incidents in just two days while police yet has to take a lead.
