Police Public meet organized at Police Station Gandhi Nagar

Jammu, Nov 3: To improve Police Public relations, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani held a police public meeting at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, here today.He was accompanied by Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu, Sazad Salaria SP City South, Sachin Gupta SDPO City South and SHO Gandhi Nagar Bishnesh.
During the meeting various grievances including traffic jamming in Nai Basti, Satwari Chowk, Gandhinagar markets, delay in issuance of character certificates, thefts , unauthorised parking on roads, menace of drugs, eve teasing at tuition centres were put forth by the citizens of the society.
DIG Jammu Samba Kathua Range assured gathering that all the issues put forth by the prominent citizens during the police public meet shall be addressed shortly. He said for proper regulation of traffic in Nai Basti and Satwari Chowk directions have already been given to local police to assist the traffic police during peak hours. Regarding issue of flourishing of unauthorised Rehries business at every nook and corner of the city, it was informed that the Municipality Corporation shall also be involved in this connection for removal of unauthorised Rehries. DIG Jammu also emphasized on the use of Dial 100 facility meant for addressing the public complaints. DIG Jammu said that necessary directions have been passed to all the field machineries to ensure quickest possible service delivery viz. issuance of Character Certificate, clearance of Passport and Service verification.
SSP Jammu Uttam Chand addressing the participants said that to improve public police relation and to channelize youth energy in right directions police is organizing Civil Action Programe, adding, decoities have been resolved and also the culprits have been apprehended in various theft cases. He urged upon the participants to use dial 100 facilities for their grievances, as about 40 police vehicles have been put into service in and around Jammu city and assured that their complaints shall be properly addressed.
Among the participants Pawan Singh Ex-Corporator, Subash Chander Rekhi President Welfare Association Laximi Narayan Mandir, Choudhary Manmohan Singh Ex-Mayor Jammu, Vinay Gupta, Nai Basti, Rajesh Bakshi Ex-Corporater, Rama Nand Sr. Member Tarade Union, Hardev Singh Corporater- Cantonment Board, Jai Deep Sharma, Ved Sharma, Ashwani Khullar, Mukand Lal Sharma, Manga Matoo President Civic Safari Karmchari Union were present on the occasion.
