SAMBA, Nov 13: Swakha Club clinched the District Samba Volleyball Trophy outplaying Dug Volleyball Club in straight but close sets of 25-22, 25-22, 28-26 in the final played at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Jakh grounds, here under the banner of District Samba Volleyball Association. The girls' title trophy went to Rahya Club, who beat Suchani Club 3-0 in the title clash held today. The finals were officiated by the technical penal comprising Mulkh Raj Sharma and Purshotam Kumar. In the finals and prize distribution function, SSP Samba, Joginder Singh was chief guest, who gave away the winners and runners-up trophies amidst appreciation for all the participating teams. He lauded the role of district association in successful conduct of the championship. He told the gathering to obey traffic rules for their safe life and asked young men to be good citizens of India and serve the mankind. The event held under the overall supervision of district president, Romesh Sharma and assisted among others by secretary, Balbinder Singh Jamwal and joint secretary, Sham Lal Sharma. Prominent among others present were Madan Lal Sharma (Sarpanch), Sudesh Sharma (Vice Principal), Dinesh Kumar, Shakti Kumar, Parshotam Kumar, Uttam Sharma, Dr Suresh Kumar, Ramesh Dutt Dubey and Balak Ram Sharma.
