Jammu, Nov 13: Police today arrested six gamblers and recovered Rs 8350 as stake money from their possession during raid conducted in Akhnoor area. A case stands registered in this regard.
“On specific reliable information a raid was conducted at Daskal Morh Akhnoor and six gamblers namely Mohd Hanief, Sajid Ali, Mohd Zaqi, Chotee Ali, Mohd shakeel and Naseem all residents of Lakhimpur Khiri Uttar Pradesh presently at Daskal Morh akhnoor have been arrested, “spokesman of police said here today. Official Spokesperson said that police team under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor, Naresh Singh has succeeded to apprehend the six gamblers.
He added that during the raid stake money amounting Rs 8350 and playing cards were recovered from the spot. A case has been registered against the accused under 13 Gambling Act . |
