Young Star, MBS win opening Hockey ties | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: Young Star and Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS) Club Simbal Camp won their respective matches on the opening day of the Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament, organised by Kashmir Sikh Sangat under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. In the first match of the inaugural day of the competition, Young Star outplayed Hira Nagar Club 3-1. Sarabjeet Singh (15th), Sumitpal Singh (38th) and Ranjeet Singh (54th) scored for the winning team while Abhinandan Singh reduced the margin striking in the 56th minute. In other match of the day, MBS blanked Ajit Club Gole Gujral 6-0. Satwant Singh (10th), Ramandeep Singh (18th and 52nd), Ramnik Singh (25th) and Jaspreet Singh (44th and 48th) were the scorers. Earlier, the competition was declared open by chief guest, Member Legislative Council (MLC), Charanjit Singh while Jatinderpal Singh, Head Dera Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Reasi was guest of honour. In other match, Chairman Kashmir Sikh Sangat, Dr Danwant Singh was chief guest, who appreciated the organisers for promoting sports. Today’s matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Daljeet Singh Bhatia, Charanjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Abishek Kumar and GS Bakshi (tournament director). |
