Refugees hold meet 11/13/2015 11:37:16 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 13: The President of Refugee Organisation R-47 expressed his anger and anguish over disgruntling outcome out of the much awaited economic package with respect to settlement of Refugees of 1947. Balraj Bakshi, the President of PROR-47 gave vent to his exasperation in a meeting of the refugees at Jammu today saying that the hopes and expectations of the refugees of 1947 pinned on the latest visit of Prime Minister to J&K have met with desperation and totally dashed to the ground. He said that the BJP functioning is nothing short of the style of functioning of Congress and other political parties lamenting that a very meagre amount of five thousand crores for refugees will not satiate their genuine requirements. He said that not only the state but the union government also cheated the PoK refugees by dubbing them as ‘Displaced Persons’ whereas under the Article 1(A)2, of the 1951 Convention and 1967 protocol they are ‘Refugees’ within the ambit of United Nations High Commission for Refugees.
