Contractors face music, IT sleuths scrutinize documents 12/2/2015 12:01:21 AM Jammu, Dec 1: The Income Tax Department sleuths today morning conducted inspections to the premises of two prominent contractors at different places in two separate incidents. Sources within IT department said, "The duo of contractors was not paying tax even their income exceeds the limits as prescribed by the Income Tax Department." They said, "The sleuths of Income Tax Department today conducted surveys to the respective residences of the contractors, reportedly seized some incriminating documents and noted some other property related details for further action." Income Tax Commissioner, Sangeeta Gupta when contacted confirmed the reports and said that Income Tax Department had already issued notices to some of the businessman and contractors to disclose their income. "The contractors failed to respond the notices served to them following which Income Tax (IT) Department conducted survey in four premises of two contractors have been identified as Satveer Gupta of Bakshi Nagar and Arvind Gupta of Rehari both working as Government contractors."   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
