CEO Rajouri withholds salaries of staff of a primary and middle school

RAJOURI, Dec 1: For very poor academic standard, missing of T1 examination record, low presence of students in the classes, and etc, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has ordered withheld stopped the salaries of the staff of a primary and middle school till they improve their performance. CEO Rajouri has directed to withhold the salaries of the staff of Govt Middle School at Jamola under Peeri Education Zone and Govt Primary School at Agrati under Doongi Education Zone for dereliction of their duties. Recently after various such complaints and on the direction from Naeem Akhter, Education Minister, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ch Altaf Hussain has directed all the ZEOs ,principals, headmasters and senior lecturers to pay surprise visit to schools under their jurisdictions for the improvement of the functioning in the government schools and the academic side of the students. An inspection was conducted at Govt Middle School at Jamola by under Peeri Education Zone by a team of headmaster and a lecturer from two schools. During inspection the team members found that the lesson plans and teacher's diaries were not introduced by the in-charge, no attendance register was maintained after May, cash books of TLE and TLM accounts were missing from school records, Mid Day Meal record was not maintained after August month and more over students can't write simple words and sentences and even failed to solve simple mathematics sums. "Only 80 students were present in the school out of 192 and only two teachers out of four were present in the school while two teachers were found engaged as BLOs," sources said. On the report of inspection team, Ch Altaf Hussain, CEO Rajouri has directed ZEO,Peeri Zone to initiate inquiry related to large scale absence of students from school, non-maintenance of various records, poor academic performance and also directed to block the salaries of the staff till inquiry and also directed two teachers to perform duties of BLOs after school hours. Similarly during inspection of primary school at Agrati in Doongi Education Zone, an inspection team comprising principal and lecturer of girls higher secondary school, Doongi, found only three students out of 18 present in the school. On the reports of the inspection team ,CEO has stopped the salaries of the teacher till they show improvement on the points raised in the report before the visit of next monitoring team.
