| PDP(Y) seeks cleaning of 'water reservoirs' | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 8: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth President Kishtwar Wasil Doolwal on the request of the inhabitants of Semana colony today visited the Semna Water Reservoir and after finding claims made by the people with regard to poor condition of the reservoir as genuine sought immediate attention from the concerned authorities to clean water reservoirs of area.
Reports from area said, during his two hour long meeting with the local inhabitants, the people informed the PDP youth President Kishtwar that the main reservoir was constructed some 45 years ago and simultaneously with the passage of the time one more reservoir came up along with a storage water tank. "People claimed that they even had removed dead animals including reptiles snakes etc from the reservoirs, reports said while adding, "department has failed to clean both the reservoirs as a result of which unhygienic water is being supplied to the people." "Besides this local raised issue of water leakage from the main reservoir and demanded cleaning of reservoir and plugging of water leakage, reports said.
After this, PDP Youth Present took up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan and Executive Engineer PHE Division Kishtwar who assured to look into the concern raised by the local inhabitants. |
