46 animals rescued, three bovine smugglers held 12/8/2015 10:21:47 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Dec 8: Chenani police today claimed to have thwarted two attempts of bovine smuggling with arrest of three bovine smugglers and rescuing 46 bovine animals besides seizures of two vehicles used in the crime during a naka at Chenani National Highway Udhampur District. According to police, a police team from Chenani Police Station of Udhampur district laid a surprised naka and intercepted two trucks including.JK14B-6555 from which police rescued 22 animals after driver of vehicle fled from the spot taking advantage of darkness." In another similar bid, police halted another truck bearing regd no JK02AT- 8215 and arrested three persons namely Driver Abdul Rehman s/o Gulam Mohd of Roun domail, Riaz Ahmad s/o Mohd Rashid of Kheri and Liaqat Ali s/o Sher Ali of Kheri after they failed to provide documents for the transportatation of animals.
