Private schools violate SC guidelines
Ferry children like animals
12/8/2015 11:11:16 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 8: Private schools in the outskirts of the Jammu city and its suburbs have violated the Supreme court guidelines with impunity as they ferry the students in vans, Matadors, buses etc in a flagrant violation of norms.
As per the SC norms the school vehicles in which they ferry the children must have Yellow color, name of the particular school in capital letters, recognized with which board, school number, first aid kit etc.
But private schools flout these norms with impunity and what is more astonishing is that vans in which these children are carried like animals.
This also endangers the precious lives of the students and the school authorities seem unmoved.
The violation of norms has been continuing unabated for quite some time.
Even the prestigious school in the Jammu city for the girls also ferry their students in the vans in violation of the norms.
Despite repeated attempts, Director School Education Jammu Smita Sethi could not be contacted.
