Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 8: In a case of mysterious disappearance of a 12-year-old child from Vijaypur, High Court judge B S Walia today directed SSP, Samba, to produce the report of 'lie detector' test of prime suspect Bhushan Kumar, son of Dharma Chand of Ward No 3, Vijaypur, for the perusal of the court on the next date of hearing, ie December 14, 2015. The boy went missing on May 5, 2014 after he had left home while playing with a pet belonging to their neighbour Satish Kumar. When this petition came up for hearing, the counsel of Rajesh Sharma drew the court attention towards the latest status report filed by SSP, Samba, who is heading the SIT constituted by the DGP on the High Court directions for tracing the missing child and submitted that it was disclosed in the status report that lie-detector test of the prime suspect could not be conducted as the only lie-detector expert in FSL was on leave and Director CFSL, Chandigarh, had been requested to conduct the lie-detector test. At this stage, Samba SSP Joginder Singh along with SDPO, Vijaypur, Shamsher Singh Sambyal appeared and informed the court that the lie-detector test of Bhushan Kumar was conducted today and the report would be available within three to four days. The SSP sought some time to place the report before the court. After considering the submissions of both the sides and looking into the seriousness of the matter, Justice Walia directed the SSP to produce the report of the lie-detector test on the next date of hearing, ie December 14. The court, however, exempted the SSP from personal appearance. (JNF) |
