JAMMU, Dec 8 : The new team of the State Sports Council has revived the otherwise closed gym at Indoor Complex of the MA Stadium, here by way of minor repairs to the existing machinery.
The facility was formally opened for the sportspersons of different disciplines by the Secretary, State Sports Council, Jawaid Shah in the presence of Joint Secretary, Shiv Kumar Sharma and members of members, including Ranjit Kalra. On his visit to the Indoor Complex, Secretary also took stock of facilities and other repair and construction works in progress. He promised the approaching trainees improvement in the existing set up at MA Stadium. "The gym was abandoned for want of certain repairs. And, one fine day, Secretary had a round of the Indoor Complex and enquired about the facility. He then issued instructions for its early restoration. So, the work has been completed in the given time and the facility has been made available to the trainees of different games," on being contacted, Manager Indoor Complex, Satish Gupta told .The Sports Training Centre (STC) Jammu of Sports Authority of India (SAI) also helped the State Sports Council in reviving the gym.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Krupali Singh, Rahil Singh (both members State Sports Council), Rajan Sharma, Ravi Singh, Varinder Sharma (Coordinator STC, Jammu) and other senior coaches posted at MA Stadium. |
