| JAMMU, Dec 8 : With an aim to acquaint general public especially younger generation about the role and spirit of Indian Armed Forces and rich heritage of the country, a painting competition on the topic "Our Soldiers Our Pride" was organized by Jammu Public Higher Secondary School, Sainik Colony.
As many as 30 students of different classes participated in the competition.
On the occasion, an educative talk was also given by Director Recruiting Col Suman Dutta on avenues available to students to join armed forces. He explained in detail the recruitment process, physical and educational eligibility for enrollment in armed forces as officer and other ranks.
Director Rajya Sainik Board (J&K), Brig (Retd) Harcharan Singh also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the activities of the Rajya Sainik Board.
He said that every year 7th December is celebrated as Armed Forces Flag Day to remind the supreme sacrifices made by the Armed Forces during wars, manmade or natural disasters. |
