AJKPA's pen down strike begins, raises various demands | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 8: In order to get its demands fulfilled, the All Jammu & Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA) began a two day long pen down strike at all district head quarters of Jammu province today. The major demands of the AJKPA include non-disbursement of salaries to field functionaries comprising Patwaris and Girdawars for the past one and a half years, non-creation of the Girdawar circles in the newly created administrative units as Naib Tehsildars. DPCs of patwaries, DPCs of qualified Girdawars as Naib Tehsildar, ban on direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, placement of qualified settlement as patwaries. The agitating Patwaris alleged that Despite several memorandums and requests to the higher authorities nothing has been done so far which ultimately forced the association to go for a two day long pen down strike. Provincial president AJKPA Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai while speaking reiterated that if their demands are not taken seriously by the authorities, the association would go for an indefinite strike in future. |
