Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 12: Against the alleged unfair police probe, a minor girl, who was illegally confined and raped for several months, has moved the state high court through her uncle to seek justice. After hearing her counsel, Justice Tashi Rabstan directed IGP, Jammu zone, to consider the girl's application, seeking change of IO (investigating officer) in the case, and file compliance report on the next date of hearing.
The court also directed police to file the latest status of the August 30, 2015 FIR No 84/2015. The victim is 14-year-old and hails from Khaljuggasar Seru in Gandoh, Doda.
Her counsel submitted that she was gang-raped and sexually abused for several months allegedly by village sarpanch Bal Krishan, Sanjeet Kumar, son of Krishan Lal Bhagat, Rattan Lal, son of Gopal Dass, Jeet Singh alias Jeetu, son of Rattan Lal and Rattan Singh.
Sarpanch's wife Usha Devi alias Guddi, working as Anganwari Worker, and Asha Worker Gian Devi are alleged to be abettors and conspirators to the sexual abuse of the petitioner by the accused.
Since the girl became pregnant, the two women forced her to undergo abortion, causing the death of her unborn baby, the counsel submitted.
He said though the SHO of Gandoh police station registered an FIR under sections 376, 109 and 363 of RPC under the supervision of SSP, Doda, and DSP Bhushan Kumar Ganjoo, police failed to conduct proper and fair investigations in the case.
"The main accused, who have been named by the petitioner, have not been arrested so far and the DSP and the SHO are making preparations to exonerate them of the charges on extraneous considerations and merely on account of their being influential persons.
All the accused are alleged to be politically well connected," he alleged.(JNF)
