Future of 9000 NHM employees at stake as Minister refuses to regularize them

Jammu, Dec 12: The future of 8 to 9 thousand employees of National Health Mission, who have been working since the scheme was introduced in Jammu and Kashmir, is in dark as the Minister for Health and Medical Education has refused to regularize them.
Sources informed Early Times that NHM introduced in the Jammu and Kashmir in 2006 and state Health department employed thousands of employees under the NHM schemes and they are continuously working and struggling for the demands. Also met with numbers of Ministers, Directors and others for the redressal of their demands and they assured the matter would be taken as soon but till date nothing has been done.
In today's press conference, the Minister for Health and Medical Education refused to regularize 8 to 9 thousand employees and said neither state government is not working on any proposal to regularize them nor Union government.
"The Minister for Health's denial to regularize these employees is tantamount to rubbing salt on their wounds," sources said and adding that most of them have already crossed the age of upper limit due to which they are not in a position to go for other job.
At present there are nearly 8 to 9 thousands employees are working under NHM and. These employees are backbone of NHM and playing healthy role for flourish the scheme in the State.
"Previous NHM Director Yashpal Sharma also made draft policy to regularize and forward to higher authority but no one bother to approve the policy and solve the problems of employees."
Sources further stated that they were continuing protest for redressal their demands including immediate regularization of all NHM Employees of J&K on the pattern of ReT or SRO 255 and others.
Talking on the issue, spokesperson of the Association, Faizan Ali Tramboo said that these employees met with number of Minister including current Health Minister and they all assured them that the demands would be fulfilled soon.
"Now, if Minister for Health dined to regularize us, we will come on road and will hold series protest near Civil Secretariat against the Department to take our right from the government and government would be responsible, "he stated.
