Poonch, Dec 12:The Inquiry Committee (IC), constituted by Poonch CMO, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti to probe into the circumstances that led to the death of young woman a few days back, is alleged to be influencing her in-laws to give a favourable statement.
Gulshan Kousar, wife of Alam Din of Chajjla, Mendhar, and mother of five children, died on December 8 last after she was administered an injection wrongly in a chemist shop.
After her family alleged that she had died due to the negligence of doctors, a 3-member committee of Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, DHO, Poonch, Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan, BMO, Surankote, and Mohammad Ismail, AD Planning, was constituted.
The committee members visited the sub-district hospital, Mendhar, and enquired about the matter from the staff. They also paid a visit to victim's house where her 80-year-old father-in-law was allegedly influenced by them to give a favourable statement. Joined by locals, he later protested against the committee members, demanding justice.
Alleging that the committee members were trying to hush up the case, the protesters said they won't let it happen. |
