JAMMU, Dec 12 : Arjun Singh won the sub-junior snooker title outplaying Basit Wani 3-1 in the final played today. The event was part of the ongoing 22nd State Billiards and Snooker Championship, organised by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here. Except for in the third frame, which he lost 21-53, Arjun dominated his opponent taking away the fourth frame by a high margin. The score: 47-30, 39-25, 21-53, 82-38. Meanwhile, Rahil Bhatt and Younis Kuchey have made it to the final of senior snooker event. Now, they shall compete for the title tomorrow. In the semifinals, played during the day, Rahil outplayed Abhishek Pathania in straight frames 4-0 (81-49, 55-49, 54-15, 64-25) while Younis defeated Mudasair Ashiq in a close contest 4-2 (70-08, 50-61, 54-42, 49-64, 78-26, 65-52). Earlier, in the last quarterfinal league tie, decided late yesterday evening, Abhishek Pathania trounced Abhi Gupta 3-2 (46-54, 13-72, 53-44, 63-41, 70-34). |
