DPS organizes story telling event

Rajbagh, Dec 12 : To add creativity to teaching and make learning more interesting for children, Delhi Public School, Rajbagh, Kathua affiliated with Central Board of School Education (CBSE) organised a 'Story Telling' event with the help of puppets for nursery class students. This was for the first time the institution introduced differential features to otherwise conventional 'Teaching Aid' and made learning more acceptable. Under able guidance of headmistress Manmita Das Gupta and nursery teachers Raspreet and Seema this Story Telling session was especially designed to involve children and make them understand the subjects including poems and stories in a better way. Especially cut out characters besides trees, flowers and placards were used to explain the story which the students appreciated a lot.
Children who were given display of this innovative way of learning were happily involved in Story Telling session and participated in the puppet show voluntarily. They showed keenness in learning in otherwise routine methods of teaching as well. The teachers involved in the session said that at DPS, Rajbagh, children are exposed to innovative ideas so that they find learning simple and accessible.
Principal DPS, Rajbagh, Kathua Nirmal Mahna while appreciating the teachers encouraged them to use such innovative methods and teaching aid to involve children in education so that they find learning more interesting. She emphasised on lessening dependence on just textbooks and expanding the learning process into natural surroundings so that children find learning more motivating.
Later Mahna extended her gratitude towards Chairman and proprietor of this prestigious institution, Ram Avtar Aggarwal for encouraging the faculty to adopt new techniques of teaching in the school. She also asked teachers and students to prepare well for the annual event which is slated for next week of this month. The new management, she added has extended all support to the staff and students for making the proposed event a grand success.
