JAMMU, Dec 12 : Rich floral tributes were paid to Shri Bawa Jitto (Baba Jit Mal Dev ji Maharaj) by Dr. SS Jamwal, Director, Department of Agriculture Jammu led officers and staff during a function in the premises of Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo Jammu here today. While paying tributes and recalling role and sacrifice of Shri Bawa Jitto for the farming community, Director Agriculture, Jammu exhorted upon the functionaries of the Agriculture Department to get inspiration from his life and work and contribute for the betterment of farming community and the society as a whole. He added that Shri Bawa Jitto will always be remembered as a messenger of honesty and truthfulness. The participants saluted his courage against injustice and suppression by the landlords of that time. The programme is organized every year after the annual Jhiri Mela jointly by All Agriculture Drivers Union, All J & K Agriculture Employees Association, the Officers and staff of the Directorate of Agriculture. Susheel Sahni, Director Law Enforcement, J&K, Sudesh Koul Joint Director (Inputs), Bipan Sambyal, Joint Director, CM Sharma Deputy Director (Central), GD Gupta, Agriculture Chemist, Vijay Upadhaya, President AJKAOWF, Uttam Chand Sharma, President and Amrik Singh, Chief Spokesman of All J&K Agriculture Employees Association, Keshav Singh, President and Suresh Kumar, General Secretary of Driver Union, other officers and officials of agriculture and allied departments were also present on the occasion. |
