BATOTE, Dec 12: The Tehsildar, Batote, Srinath Suman today presided the Tehsil Disaster Management Committee (TDMC) meeting wherein the arrangements for tackling any exigency arising due to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar NHW or the displacement of families because of the heavy snowfall or landslides during the forthcoming winter months were discussed.
It was informed that four shelter sheds have been established in as many local schools at Batote for the stranded passengers adding that the arrangement for their night stay including the arrangement for heating , drinking water, power, medical and security would be available.
For the better coordination among the TDMC members, designated volunteers and the higher authorities besides the needy persons a control room has been set up in the office of the Naib-Tehsildar, Batote. Its Tel Ph.No. is 01998244220.
It was decided that enough stock of rice, flour, sugar would be kept available in the government PDS ration depots for free distribution to the stranded passengers staying in the shelter sheds for longer period. |
