S.Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Dec 13: A day after the civilian was killed protests rock Rafiabad area of Baramulla district today morning after the dead body of a traditional snack vendor reached to his native village Bahrampora. According to sources that, panic gripped on Saturday late evening, after some unidentified persons attacked a local man with sharp knives and silt his throat when he was on way to his home. Ghulam Tantray was not having any personal rivalry with anyone, and it is hard to believe that he is no more with us, said sources. However according to eyewitness that today morning the local residents from all walks of society staged a protest demonstrations against the murderers and were demanding arrest of the involved persons. People including men, women and children blocked the road for several hours in the same area, the protesters were chanting slogans like, Qatiloon ko paish karo,humaray sath insaff karo, insaff karo( present the killers and do justice with us) eyewitness told early times over the phone. If sources are to be believed they doubt that, "drug addicts may be behind the murder, as drug abuse is on rise in the area. "Rs 12000 were found in the deceased pocket whereas the other cash was stolen from his hand cart, on which he used to sell his traditional snacks during evening hours, said sources. Sources said that, the deceased was the only bread earner for his family and has left behind 4 daughters, 1 son and mentally retarded wife, Saja Begum. The killing of civilian has created panic among the locals as the people don't dare to come out of their residences after evening hours. Pertinently Ghulam Mohammad Tantray, alias Gul Mattar 45 S/O Ghulam Ahmad R/O Ganie Mohalla, Bahrampora was stabbed to death by unknown persons at Behrampora when he was on way to his home on Saturday evening at around 7:50 pm, said sources. The deceased had lost the blood and was moved to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Meanwhile Station House Officer (SHO) Dangiwacha, Mohammad Attiqullah told early times that, "A local resident of Bahrampora, Ghulam Mohammad Tantray was stabbed to death by some unidentified persons on Saturday evening. We have registered a case vide First Information Report (FIR) no 67/2015 under section 302 RPC in police station Dangiwacha, and we are investigation the case. When asked about the cause of death, he said everything will come to fore after proper investigations and at the moment we can say anything, SHO added. |
