Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 13: Despite the recommendations of a sub-committee constituted by the Vice- Chancellor of Jammu University to check the irregularities in the salary of a Liaison Officer, VC himself has failed to take action and revoke the unnecessary hike in the salary to the blued eyed. According to sources, the committee included Chief Coordinator all off site campuses, Prof Rajnikant, Joint Registrar Finance, Jatinder Khajuria, Sohaib Innayat Mallik, Director Kishtwar Campus and Coordinator Dawood Iqbal recommended to revoke the salary of an employee and collect recovery with effect from 1st April 2014. Pertinently, from the year 2010 to 2014 salary of the said employee was withdrawn from the funds of Bhaderwah campus, but in 2014 a blue-eyed official, appointed in the varsity on the directions of a senior Congress leader, used his influence and signed a circular in the capacity of Campus coordinator and submitted it to Ex VC of JU, with a plea to change the salary head of the employee from Bhaderwah to Kishtwar with enhancement from Rs 10000 to Rs 13500. The then Vice Chancellor, approved the note signed by the blue-eyed official and the salary of his associate was hiked, said sources. They added that with effect from 1 April 2014, the said employee is getting Rs 13500 as salary which made him the first ever employee of the Jammu University in non-teaching faculty to get Rs 13500 as the maximum salary withdrawn by non-teaching wing is Rs 10000. After Early Times raised the issue and highlighted the disparity in the salaries of Liason officers the Vice-Chancellor immediately constituted a committee to look into the matter but despite the recommendations of the committee no action was taken in this regard . Earlier, when resentment started brewing, sources said, the Congress leader's relative played another trick and ensured that actual post of his associate is not mentioned on the official orders. |
