Early Times Report Kishtwar, Dec 28 : With a view to create awareness and knowledge base of the farmers, a Farmers Interface Programme was organized by NABARD at TRC panchayat Kwar of Nagsini Tehsil in Kishtwar District. The program was attended by Adarsh Gupta (District Development Manager, NABARD), Amjad Hussain Malik (Agriculture Extension Officer), Anil Sharma (Gram Rozgar Sevek), Vikram (Representative, RSETI). Amjad Hussain Malik (AEO) explained in detail about the best practices of farming like better seed utilization to increase the productivity of crops. He explained the best ways to use different kind of fertilizers and pesticides and motivated the farmers, that beside the main agriculture business, they should take up some allied activities like mushroom cultivation and bee keeping which can give better returns to farmers. He also explained the details of the activities taken by the government for welfare of farmers. Vikram RSETI explained about the training courses being offered at Rural Self Employment and Training Institute for farmers and people in general with an aim to create skill development among people for employment generation. |
