| Only 2 CDPOs for 6 ICDS projects | | | MS NAZKI

Poonch, Dec 28: There are 6 Integrated Child Development Schemes (ICDS) projects running in district Poonch but only two CDPOs are supervising all the projects as there were four posts of CDPOs vacant for the last many months.
Sources said for the time being Nahima Bhatti whose present place of posting is Baffliaz in Surankote has been given additional charge as CDPO Balakote and CDPO Haveli in Poonch while as Parveen Chowdhary whose present place of posting is mat Mandi has been given additional charge of CDPO Mendhar and Surankote respectively. Both the CDPOs' have been changing their additional charges in vice versa for the last 12 years. The burden of additional charges from the two CDPOs would have been reduced if the 4 vacancies of CDPOs were filled by the department, sources added.
When contacted CDPO Mandi Parveen Choudhary said,"there is burden of additional charges and that definitely has a bearing on our work" CDPO added.
"There is pilferage in rice bags and other packing of food grains allotted to us, Parveen further said". We find bags of rice which contain only 35 to 40 kg rice in it. Whereas on records it is 50 kg, same is the case with other items," the officer further added.
On the other hand workers and helpers have not been paid their dues for the last one year for want of funds, Parveen said "we have received the funds and their dues will be disbursed shortly".
District Programme Officer (DPO) Poonch, Manzoor Chowdhary when contacted confirmed that there were at least 4 vacancies of CDPOs in district Poonch where 6 ICDS projects were in progress but on the disbursement of salary to helpers and workers he had no comments. |
