Families of lower rung police officers living in dilapidated residential quarters
12/28/2015 11:22:48 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 28:As the winter season is peaking, the families of junior police men living in dilapidated residential buildings are at the receiving end in the absence of urgent repair works.
For a long time these junior cops have been raising the genuine demand of carrying out necessary repair works to ensure that their families do not suffer due to excessive winter chill in the absence of window glass but it seems their pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
The most common complaint and demand of families of lower rung staff of state police is permanent solution from leaking rooftops and glass windows with nets to check the entry of insects and chilly winds.
In the absence of proper cover the families have made alternate arrangements to tackle the cold wave conditions but it is not sufficient to completely beat the adverse weather and protect them.
Some of the families living in local accommodation inside police station buildings have been tired of projecting their demands before senior police authorities but in the absence of adequate funds, the police housing corporation too has failed to address the general grievances of their own staff families.
Families living in police lines, feel the pinch when they see regular repair works are carried out across police station buildings, private and govt accommodations of senior cops but when it comes to spending on providing basic amenities to their families they take refuge behind high cost of repair work.
The families living in Chhani Himmat police lines are also dealing with the issue of poor road conditions in their area besides day to day routine problems.
Several outstation jawans have even shifted their families to private accommodations after they failed to convince their senior authorities to carry out urgent repair work inside their small houses.
