Police issues 'dossier' against JKLF Chairman, accuses him of instigating trouble | | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 28: A day after Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik was sent to judicial remand along with some of his associates the Jammu & Kashmir Police today said that Malik incited his associates thus leading to trouble in Maisuma and adjacent areas on Friday last. A police spokesman said that Malik, along with his associates took out a procession on Friday (25-12-2015) without any prior permission from District Administration. He said that during this un-lawful procession the JKLF Chairman incited and instigated his associates with an intention to create disturbances and to disturb the normal life. "The supporters started heavy pelting on the policemen and the passing by vehicles injuring many policemen including Fahad Tak-DYSP, SDPO Kothibagh, Srinagar who received serious injuries to his eye and a fracture in his nose. The young officer aged 29 years, a direct KPS of 2011 Batch and on his first field posting, had to be air lifted to Delhi and is under treatment at AIIMS New Delhi," said the police spokesman. The police spokesman said that doctors at the hospital are not very optimistic about the regaining of vision of the affected eye despite surgeries having being performed. He while referring to the incident said that case FIR No 47/2015 was registered in Police Station Maisuma. "Malik along with some of his associates were taken into custody and lodged in Police Station. Under the legal process, the accused have been remanded to judicial custody and lodged in Central Jail, Srinagar," said the police spokesman. It would be in place to mention here that JKLF Chairman was arrested along with some of his associates while carrying out a protest demonstration at Budshah Chowk here on Friday. Malik appeared before a magistrate on Sunday and following this he was sent on 10 days judicial remand to Central Jail, Srinagar. At the same time all the shops and commercial establishments remained closed in Maisuma and adjacent areas against the shifting of JKLF Chairman to Central Jail, Srinagar. Stone pelting incidents also took place in the areas where shutdown was observed. However, the situation remained by and large peaceful in these areas. |
