Jammu, Dec 28: Former Minister for External Affairs in UPA-II led by Dr Manmohan Singh and acclaimed author of International reputeSalman Khurshid during his visit winter capital stressed that the best way to prevent alienation of Kashmiri youth is to organise cultural exchange programs, Addressing a literary function organized at Abhinav Theatre on Sunday, the former Union Minister underlined that the best way to prevent alienation of Kashmiri youth is to organise cultural exchange programs. He added that this will help Kashmiri youths to interact with youths of other parts of India which in longer run with build strong bonds and erase feeling of alienation from Kashmiri youths. While addressing a gathering during programe organized by Lehar in collaboration with JK Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Khurshid said that the biggest problem is that there is lack of conceptual clarity on Kashmir. He said the worst is that Kashmir is remembered only during crisis. Earlier, while speaking on issues of reservation of minorities, Khurshid said times has come when nation need to move away from policy of reservation to equal opportunities. Prof Badri Raina in his address said that often Congress is charged of appeasing Muslims, which is not correct and said that had Congress been appeasing Muslims, condition of latter would not have been that bad. Badri instead charged Congress of reactionary appeasement. He said Congress was appeasing the one who reacted in particular situation. Session was moderated by Pradeep Dutta, Bureau chief Times Now J&K.
