Poonch, Jan 3: Followed by terrorist attack on Airbase at Pathankot (Punjab) a high alert has been sounded across northern parts of country including Poonch district .
Sources said that army and paramilitary forces have been put on high alert and patrolling of the border near LoC have been intensified.
Poonch district being sensitive in security point of view as it is nearer to LoC, army and security personnel have to maintain extra vigil. They said that any attempt to infiltrate this side militants waiting at launching pads across the Loc, will be dealt with an iron hand, sources in army said. Patrolling has been intensified on Line of Control and our jawans are up in arms to foil any attempt of infiltration, they further said.
Sources said there have been many routes vulnerable to infiltration from Balakote sector, KG Sector, Mandi and Gulpur where from militants are pushed to the side of LoC to carry out the subversive activities in J&K and other parts of the country. Most of the terrorists belong to JEM and LeT groups, they further revealed. |
