Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 3: Two 'moles' of Jammu and Kashmir Police, alleged to be part of the drug mafia, are likely to be dismissed from service as move in this connection has been initiated by the police headquarters (PHQ).
"These two police officials, taking the undue advantage of the khakhi, were found conniving with drug smugglers and booked accordingly", a senior police officer said, adding, "Since both the cops have brought ignominy, the organization won't spare them at any cost".
If the official sources are to be believed, PHQ has given fifteen days time to the district Jammu police to prepare ground to chuck them out from police services.
These two police officials include Probationer Sub Inspector (PSI) Nitin Khajuria and constable Arvind Kapoor. Both are at present under suspension.
Constable Arvind Kapoor who was attached with the PCR Jammu, was arrested on December 27 along with heroin and intoxicant tablets from Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari, falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station.
Bakshi Nagar police had intercepted a Honda City car bearing registration number JK02AR-5200 at Hari Nagar,Rehari driven by cop Arvind Kapoor, son of Raj Kapoor, a resident of Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari and during checking, police recovered 2 grams heroin worth Rs 10,000 and 30 intoxicant tablets from his possession. Later, police booked him under FIR Number 171/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The said cop was later bailed out.
Probationer Sub Inspector (PSI) Nitin Khajuria (PID No EXJ-109496) was placed under suspension by the IGP Jammu Danesh Rana after he was allegedly found to be hand in glove with the drug smugglers. The said cop came under police scanner after alleged complaints against him started reaching senior police officers for his involvement in the drug smuggling racket. This was alleged to have been confirmed by the two drug smugglers who were arrested at Jammu Railway Station, during special naka outside Jammu Railway Station.
The gang of drug smugglers including the cop was busted when a Police Party of P/S Bahu Fort laid a surprised naka at Narwal near Railway bridge and stopped one Alto Car bearing Registration No JK02GB-4935. During search police party recovered 13500 intoxicant capsules from the possession of Ajay Kumar Sahney S/o Ram Saroop Sahney of Gurha Bakshi Nagar and Vikram Singh S/o Banarsi Dass of Shiv Nagar Rehari Jammu. They were later booked under FIR No 237/2015 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Bahu Fort police station.
The said cop was in constant touch with one drug smuggler namely Vikram Jaindal @ Viky S/O Banarsi Lal Jaindal of Lane No 1, Shiv Nagar, who is alleged to be active drug dealer in Jammu city. he was alleged to be bringing the consignment of contraband from Delhi through railway parcel/courier service and the PSI was alleged to be assisting the drug supplier in clearing the consignment from parcel office at Railway station, Jammu and en-route destination to avoid any sort of checking of the vehicle.
During secret inquiry it was allegedly found that the PSI was "hand-in-gloves "with the drug dealers and suppliers of Jammu city. On this count, he was placed under suspension by IGP Jammu with immediate effect and departmental inquiry was entrusted to DIG Jammu Kathua Range Ashkoor Wani.
