| Couple allegedly assaulted, police denies allegations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 7: A couple today allegedly has been roughed up by police while police rejected the allegations and maintained that police team has gone to arrest the husband of the woman who was absconding in a molestation case when the police party but was attacked by the family members of accused.
Babli Manhas wife of Lucky Singh Manhas of Belicharana in a telephonic conversation with 'Early times' claimed that she was beaten mercilessly by Belicharana police today afternoon when she alongwith her husband went to police post after they were summoned by the in-charge police post. She alleged that her husband who is an electrician with a private company was also beaten up by the police for reasons better known to police authorities. To its sharp contrast, police demied the charges outrightly and in-charge police post, SI Ranjet Rao when contacted told that husband of the woman is wanted in a case registered under section 354 of RPC at concerned police post.
"On specific information, he along with cops of the police post went to arrest him, incharge police post said adding, "the family members all of sudden attacked the police party. He however denied the allegations of assaulting anybody by the police. |
