At Bijbehara's Dara Shakoh Garden, Lal Singh caught posing to cameras | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Bijbehara, Jan 7: At a time when people were laying Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to rest at historical Dara Shakoh Garden here in south Kashmir on Thursday, Health Minister Choudhary Lal Singh was spotted posing to cameras. Early Times spotted the Minister posing to cameras this evening near the (grave) final resting place of the Chief Minister. Senior ministers from both the ruling parties (PDP and BJP) even legislators from Congress and National Conference were silently observing the burial of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed but Health Minister Lal Singh was spotted asking his subordinate staff to click photographs of him apparently to generate media hype. Minister's such "cheap tricks" to get publicity irked many senior politicians and bureaucrats present near the venue. "By asking his men to click photographs like this he is showing disrespect to Late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed," said one the senior bureaucrat opined. PDP workers were too upset with the Minister's behavior who later asked a health department official to stop clicking photographs. Later, the Minister briefed press and claimed that Mehbooba Mufti could take over as Chief Minister late in the night. However, a senior PDP minister left the Health Minister red faced saying, "We haven't yet started the process yet." |
