Harish Chander Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 7: A district SP is the most discussed person at the police headquarters (PHQ) nowadays for 'his' alleged act of spying on SPs, DSPs, SHOs and other subordinates. For the undercover operations, the SSP is taking the assistance of at least three favourite officers, cooks, sentries and other lower rank cops, according to police sources. "Even a track is being maintained of the cellphone calls by them. Inventories of all those visiting the offices of SPs and SDPOs and meeting SHOs in police stations in connection with personal or other works are also being prepared by the spies and submitted to the SSP on daily basis," sources alleged. "The SSP is not forwarding these lists to seniors at the state PHQ or zonal PHQ for any action on them, but has been keeping them in his office to use them for exerting pressure on the subordinates," sources said. The undercover operations are, however, not directed at the favourite police officers. All, except the favourites, are not happy with the district SP and have been avoiding meeting people in their offices and government accommodations. "They have even lodged complaints with ZPHQ, expressing their displeasure over the SSP's conduct," the sources added. |
