'SICOP pays no heed towards Battal Ballian Industrial area'

Udhampur, Jan 7 : Association of Industries Udhampur said that Battal Ballian Industrial area is one of the backward industrial area of the state. A meeting of Association of Industries Udhampur was held under the president ship of Udhayveer singh at the office of Association. On the occasion the owner and managers of different industrial unit of Battal Ballian were present.
Speaking on the occasion the senior vice president Raghubir Gandotra said the industry area is under SICOP department but SICOP department pay no heed towards this area. 90% of drains of this area are blocked, lights are not properly functioning and roads of this area are in worst conditions. In spite of our repeatedly request no heed was paid by SICOP department. For this reason few month back owners of the different units themselves got repaired the connectivity roads of the area Battal Ballian Industrial area from their own pockets.
Now the Association has decided to launch a plantation drive programme in this area within couple of weeks. The name and title of this plantation drive "Green Battal Ballian". Under this drive the Association will try to aware the unit holder as well as locals about the benefit of plantation. In first step the unit holder will plant trees inside their units, secondly plantation will be done on both side of roads and divider. And lastly plantation will be done in full industry area. The association has also taken the decision to beatify park situated in this area with the help of SICOP department. At last Sukhdev Singh applead all the unit holder, district administration, local resident and all industrial related departments to actively participate in this drive so that it will help in the beatification of this area and also pollution will also be controlled. Among others who present on the cession were Ravinder Thakur, Pardeep Bakshi, Mahenderpal, Darshan Mehra, Jitender Bagari, Bippan, Ankush Sondhi, Gourav Jamwal, Sanjeev Sharma, Vivek Gandotra, Happy Gandotra, Arun Khajuria, Sushil Sharma, Nirdosh Sharma etc.
