On Social media, Kashmiris get emotional over Mufti's demise | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 7 : Even as the social media is often seen as a threat to national security, it is equally making people more emotional and humane as was visible today on the demise of Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed. Facebook and Twitter which are otherwise infamous for spreading Azadi sentiment today found people paying glowing tributes to their departed leader. Not only the common man down the lane but even the politicians from opposition showered glowing tributes to Mufti and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. "Woke up to the very sad news. Rest in Peace Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Sahib. A fine gentleman with a great political experience. May the almighty God rest his soul in peace and give enough strength to his family to bear this loss," said Emaad Muzaffar, a student on Facebook. "Deeply saddened by the demise of Mufti Mohammad sayeed, heartfelt condolences to family of mufti sahab.....RIP," posted former Mayor and NC leader Salman Ali Sagar. "Very sad to hear about Jenab Mufti Mohd Sayeed's demise. May his soul rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family," posted Abu Salman, a noted businessman. "Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is no more. RIP. One can have millions of differences with living beings but our Prophet Muhammad SAW taught us to forget all differences with the deceased. My condolences with the bereaved family particularly wife Gulshan Ara and daughter Mehbooba," wrote a blogger. Interestingly some of the netizens were curious to know who would be the next CM and when. This too remained a debate online with Mehbooba's name figuring at the top of the list to be seconded by none. But as condolences were pouring, some posted bad about the departed soul. This time, many fought back such miscreants to make them bite the dust. Among them was a senior journalist of Kashmir who posted. "We all have to die. Let us leave it to the Creator to decide the fate of a person after he or she has left this mortal world. He is As-Sami' ul-Basir "...There is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things). Qur'an [42:11]" |
