GDC Kathua organizes slogan writing competition 1/18/2016 10:47:57 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Jan 18: With the motive to eradicate the discrimination against the girl child besides a bid to encourage birth and education of girls, Degree College Kathua organized a slogan writing competition on the topic " Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" at College auditorium Kathua, here today. Principal Dr. Nater Singh Raina was the chief guest, College staff and large number students were present on the occasion. The programme started with lighting of traditional lamp by the chief guest. As many as fifty students of the College participated in the slogan writing competition. The participating students threw light on various aspects of the theme 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' by their meaningful slogans. Organising Committee Member Dr. Ram Singh highlighted the contributions of females in every field shouldering responsibility at par with male counterparts. While speaking on the occasion Dr. Nater Singh said that declination in the sex ratio is an alarming bell for the society that needs to be addressed with an iron hand. He sought awareness to check the menace of the female foeticide. He said that no society can develop and progress without the contribution of the women.
