Jammu, Jan 18: As The Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti keeping her cards close to her chest is turning into a virtual trauma for the BJP leaders, a few of whom are feared to have slipped into depression. According to the sources in BJP circles, the sudden fall of Government following death of then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and series of events thereafter have virtually shocked the former ministers of saffron brigade, who had not even dreamt of meeting such a fate within months of coming into power. Besides, the withdrawal of official vehicles and personal staff, the sudden disappearance of crowd from their official residences have made the BJP leaders realize the bitter truth of politics and power. However, the most disturbing factor, which has made the BJP leaders worried, is the silence of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, who has not disclosed her political strategy vis-à-vis alliance with BJP for formation of Government in J&K. The situation can be gauged from the fact that despite continuous silence of PDP and its cold shouldered response, the former Deputy Chief Minister and leader of BJP Legislature Party, Dr Nirmal Singh keeps on chanting that Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister is acceptable to BJP. As the ongoing political stalemate is likely to continue for a few more days and the state BJP is clueless over the developments, the former ministers of this party are also being taken for a ride by a section of so called journalists, who continue to float stories in social media on inclusion as well as exclusion of individuals in the new council of ministers. |
