BARAMULLA, Jan 18 : Police on Monday claimed to have arrested an over ground worker of Al-Badar militant outfit.
A senior police official said acting on a tip off about the movement of Anti-National Elements (ANEs) in the Handwara area, a joint team of police along with 27 RR Army laid a Naka at Sagipora Crossing.
During checking one suspect who tried to hide himself and give slip to the Naka party on the spot was arrested, the official said.
He said the suspect has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Pohru Peth, an over ground worker (OGW) of Al-Badar militant outfit.
"On his search, one Chinese Pistol along with ammunition was recovered. A case FIR number 14/2016 under section 7/25 arms act was registered in Police Station Handwara," the official said. |
