Dharna launched by JKFAWU enters 8th day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 18 : The dharna launched by the Food and Allied Workers in main Food Stores of Jammu and Srinagar has entered in its 8thday for redressal of their long pending genuine demands which have not been resolved so far. The leaders of the Union expressed anguish over the delaying and deferring tactics adopted by the Department. The demands of the workers are enhancement of loading-unloading of bag rates as per price index after every six months, grant of Minimum Guarantee Wages at par with FCI pattern ,engagement of 17 workers of Muffasil depots and replacement of 12 workers, release of payment of monthly wages by the 10th of each month, implementation of pension scheme for the workers, grant of lead of City Supply, engagement of Listman for the City Supply, provision of work for main Stores to overcome the problem of lesser work there. While addressing the workers, the President Bishan Dass said that there has been no change in the stand taken by the Government ignoring the fact that labour is the main pillar and the backbone of the department which depends upon the hard work rendered by the workers during daily operation. He stated that next step would be to struck the work in toto in all the Food Stores of the State on Monday and Tuesday carrying the protest dharna in the offices of Directors CAPD Jammu and Srinagar. He appealed Governor J&K to intervene in the matter for early solution of genuine problems of the workers. |
