Jammu, Jan 18 : Jammu and Kashmir State AIDS Control Society (JKSACS) and District Jail Ambphalla jointly organized a screening cum AIDS Awareness camp in the premises of District Jail Ambphalla, Jammu for the jail inmates. The programme was specially organized under the aegis of S.K. Mishra, IPS, and Director General of Police, Prisons J&K to create awareness about health issues among the jail inmates and for the timely detection of HIV. About 100 Jail inmates and Officers/Officials from different faculties of Prisons were made aware on different aspects of HIV/AIDS and were also explained the reason for conducting the screening cum awareness programme in the jail premises. The programme began with a welcome note from Superintendent of Ambphalla Jail Harish Kotwal which was followed by the key address of S.K. Mishra, IPS, Director General of Police, Prisons J&K who dwelt in detail about the various welfare measures being taken by the Prisons department for the betterment of inmates lodged in various jails of the state. |
