3 day National Level Painting Camp commences 1/19/2016 12:20:25 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 18 : A 3-day National level painting camp on 'Tribal Life and Culture of Jammu and Kashmir' was inaugurated at Kala-Kendra, in presence of Galaxy of artists, writer and intellectuals , here today. The event was jointly organized by Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation and District Administration Udha-mpur under Government of Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary IAS , Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur was chief guest on the occasion while as internationally renowned artists Rajindera Tikoo and Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary Tribal Foundation were in the presidium. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Shahid Iqbal said that this is a unique camp in many ways. He said the nomadic life and culture of different ST groups of state will get highlighted and a boost through the medium of this camp. He said that art and Culture is an important component of our identity which makes the ethnicities more vibrant and dominant. He said the Tribal Foundation , District Administration is holding this event with the help of Department of Tribal Affairs , J&K. He said that more imitative are in offing to hold such gathering of artists in future which will ultimately help us in binding the society together.
