Jammu, Jan 18 : An Eight day Model Training Course (MTC) on "Marketing Research for Value Chain in Fruits" began today at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. The course is sponsored by Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture and will be organized by Division of Agricultural Economics and ABM, Faculty of Agriculture at SKUAST-Jammu from January 18 to 25. The training programme will give clear understanding of value chain mechanisms and tools, which can be used to implement, develop projects, and negotiate with potential buyers in their respective areas. Dr. PK Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-J was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Speaking on the inaugural function, Dr. PK Sharma briefed about the importance of marketing and value chain in the agricultural sector and emphasized that all stakeholders should have the proper knowledge in value chain management for getting best price for agricultural production. He wished the participants an informative eight days of training programme and pleasant stay in the City of Temples. |
