Republic day celebrated with patriotic fervour across state | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 27: The 67th Republic day was celebrated with patriotic fervour across the state with functions organized at respective district headquarters in public as well as private institutions besides political, social, cultural groups organized functions to mark the day. Morning Walker Association celebrated 67th Republic Day with patriotic fervour at Green Belt Park Gandhi Nagar Jammu and Nationa flag was unfurled by BD Sharma under the chairmanship of President Ashok Chopra. In Ramban district the main function was held at District Police Lines, Chandrog, where District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Basheer Ahmed Dar unfurled the national flag. After inspecting the contingents of JKP, IRP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and the students of various schools DDC took the salute from their parading contingents. Block Congress Commitee Bishnah celebrated the day by organizing function at party office Kanhal, Shashi Sharma Secretary Pardesh Congress Commitee unfurled the National flag followd by National anthem. Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee organized a function at party headquarters Srinagar where senior party leaders and workers hoisted tri-colour. The function was attended by several senior party leaders and office bearers including District President Srinagar Abdul Gani Khan, Gulam Nabi Mir, Mohd Hussain Wada and others. General Secretary of JKPCC Vikram Malhotra unfurled the national flag at Vikram Chowk in ward number 19 of Jammu city. Speaking on the occasion, he wished that prevailing uncertainty over formation of next government in Jammu & Kashmir will be over very soon and the sufferings of the people will be mitigated. POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System -II celebrated the day by organizing a function at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza Jammu with gaiety and enthusiasm. Anil Jain, Executive Director, NRTS -II, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, unfurled the flag. Anju Jain, President Shrishti Mahila Samiti, Senior officials of POWERGRID, employees, their families and children were present on the occasion. The main function was organized at the Shrine Board Sports Complex, where Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the tricolour and took salute at an impressive march-past by the contingents drawn from CRPF, J&K Police, NCC Boys and Girls, Scouts and Guides, besides the students of various educational institutions of Katra and its surrounding areas. The main function was organized at historic Chowghan ground Kishtwar, where Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Nabi Balwan hoisted the national flag. The function started with the parade led by SDPO Atholi Pardeep Sen in which the contingent from armed police, CISF, CRPF, Forest protection force, HSS (Boys), HSS (Girls), Islamia Faridiya Higher Secondary School Kishtwar, Daffodil Model Public School, New Era Public School, SDM Public School and other schools participated. Mohalla Krishna Nagar Residents Committee organized a function, in which convener of the committee Sunil Kumar along with others unfurled the tri-colour and took salute. The Speakers recalled the sacrifices of unsung heroes of the country: Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Chander Shekhar Azad and Rajguru and also remembered architect of the Indian Constitution Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar hoisted the national flag and took salute of the parade comprising contingents drawn from Police, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Police training School, Kathua, NCC and platoons from various Government/ Private schools besides pipers. At Bani, SDM Rajesh Basotra hoisted the National tricolor and took salute. Colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion by the school children. At Hiranagar SDM Sohan Lal unfurled the National flag at Mini Stadium, Hiranagar and took salute from the march past. Colourful cultural programme and skits on patriotic theme were presented on the occasion by the school children. At Billawar, SDM, R.S Charak hoisted the National flag at Tehsil level function at Government HSS, Billawar and took salute from the march-past. Colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion. At Basohli, SDM Gurmukh Singh unfurled the National tricolour and took salute. Colorful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion by the school children. APJ Abdul Kalam Human Welfare Foundation celebrated republic day at Poonch with full fervour and gaiety. On this occasion, Foundation members also stressed and pledged to work for the unity and integrity of the country in general and district Poonch in particular. Dr. S. S. Jamwal, Director, Department of Agriculture, hoisted the national Flag at Krishi Bhawan Lawns, Talab Tillo, Jammu to mark the 67th Republic day celebrations here today. A function was organized at PVC Bana Singh Stadium wherein SDM R.S Pura unfurled the national flag .On the occasion MLA RS Pura and political advisor to State BJP President Dr. Gagan Bhagat,S.P(HQ) Ramesh Kotwal,Tehsildar R.S Pura Abhishek Abrol,S.D.P.O RS Pura Harjeet Singh,B.D.O R.S Pura Sanchi Devi,B.D.O Miran Sahib Naresh Digra beside others were also present. In Gandhi Nagar ward no 21, flag hoisting ceremony was held at Laxmi Narayan Mandir chowk by the people of ward. The chief Guest of the program was BJP leader Indu Bhushan Sharma, who hoistd the tricolour. Functions were organized in the remote areas of Balnoi, Sagra and Mankote in tehsil Mendhar to mark the 67th republic day and massive popular participation. Patriotic sentiments were overwhelming as children, rural folk, senior citizens and the Indian Army collectively showcased the strength of the Republic. Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervuor in District Jail Jammu where Director General of Police, Prisons, S.K. Mishra hoisted the National flag. Speaking on the occasion Director General highlighted the importance of the day. He also paid tributes to the great leaders and freedom fighters. The 67th Republic Day was celebrated at Udhampur with great enthusiasm, gaiety and fervour today. Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the chief guest at Republic Day function in Government PG College who unfurled the tricolour and inspected guard of honour. Appreciating the role played by the Indian Army for bearing this chilling temperature and guarding the Borders of the Country, especially in difficult and inhospitable conditions and extolled the role of the Army and the security forces for their valor and alertness, Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Haji Hanifa Jan paid homage to those brave soldiers who laid their life in the service of Nation on the eve of 67th Republic Day Celebration in Kargil. The Income Tax Department celebrated 'Republic Day' and organized functions at various places in the State of Jammu and Kashmir where its offices are functioning. Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner of Income tax, Jammu unfurled the National flag at Aayakar Bhawan, Jammu and the function was organized at Income Tax Officers Residential Housing Colony, which was attended by large number of Senior citizens, tax payers, members of different Bar Associations/ Traders Federation and the employees of the Department. The 67th Republic day was celebrated at Civil Airport Jammu with fervour along with the staff of Airports Authority of India, all the Airlines, JKP and CRPF personnel also participated in the celebration. The national flag was hoisted by the Airport Director, Devendra Kumar Gautam. Republic Day function was celebrated at Nowshera in which SDM Nowshera who was the chief guest of the event, unfurled the flag and took salute at the venue at Boys Higher Secondary School Nowshera. A cultural programme was also held by different schools of the locality. MLA of concerned constituency, Ravinder Raina also attended the programme and delivered speech. On 67th Republic Day celebration, Gandhi Global Family, Vice President Padmashri S P Varma unfurled Tricolour at Kachi Chhawani in presence of GGF volunteers and GGF office bearers. In his message, he said, " This day reminds us of our nation's achievements in codifying the constitution of India. The 67th Republic Day was celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm at PDP office Vijaypur, flag hosted by Dr Harmesh Singh Slathia. In continuity of the programmes of 67th Republic Day celebrations, District Congress Committee celebrated the function with enthusiasm. District Congress Committee President Former MLC Subash Chander Sharma gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, hoisted the tri-color. Roop Nagar JDA Housing Colony Welfare Association celebrated 67th Republic Day at JDA Club Sector No 3 Roop Nagar. Former CAPD Minister Choudhary Zulfkar Ali along with the president of the association unfurled the National Flag following National Anthem. Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Mandeep Kour unfurled the tricolor at municipality premises Town Hall to celebrate Republic Day. In her speech Commissioner conveyed heart-felt greetings to the employees of JMC and appreciated the work of the officers. She also stressed for providing better services to the general public and further stated that there is a need to educate the general masses to understand the need of the hour is to maintain our well being by way of keeping our surroundings neat and clean. Indian National Trade Union Congress celebrated 67th Republic Day at Company Bagh under leadership of Shiv Kumar Sharma, the president of the Union. Assistant Executive Engineer DS Choudhary unfurled the National Flag followed by the National Anthem. On the occasion of the 67th Republic Day a function was held in the office of Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) in which Yash Paul Gupta, President, CTF unfurled the national flag. Gupta exhorted the large number of gathering to display unity among all the ranks of the society to usher in an era of peace and prosperity in the State. National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) in collaboration with various social, culture and trade organizations celebrated 67th Republic Day with patriotic fervour ,gaiety and enthusiasm. In this connection a colourful function was held at historic Pacca Danga Chowk in old city, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri was unfurled National flag followed by National Anthem. In a special programme held at Bhour Camp, Jammu Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj celebrated 67th Republic Day with enthusiasm and gaiety. Veer Nari Bimla Sharma widow of Martyr of 1965 Indo Pak War Nk Rabindera Dass hoisted the National Flag on behalf of Samaj. Republic Day was celebrated by Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) and Association for Welfare of Senior Citizens (AWSC) by jointly hoisting National Flag in the office premises of the society with great enthusiasm. Vikram Gour President TNWS hoisted the National Flag in the presence of all members of TNWS and AWSC and Ashok Kumar Arora, President AWSC. Speaking on the occasion Vikram Gour said unity and solidarity is the order of the day and all citizens irrespective of caste, colour, religion and political affiliations be on guard to preserve the safety and solidarity of the country. The 67th Republic Day was celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm at Arazi Stadium Samba today, where the District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the March past comprising contingents of JK police, Home Guard, Ex-Servicemen and students of various schools. SSP Samba Joginder Singh, ASP Samba Faisal Qureshi, Additional Deputy commissioner Pawan Sharma. The Republic Day function was also organized in the Sub divisions Ghagwal and Vijaypur where the SDMs hoisted the flag whereas in the tehsils this function was also organised with great enthusiasm in which Tehsildars hoisted the Tricolor. Republic Day function of Tehsil Beripattan was celebrated in the premises of HSS Bajabain, where Tehsildar Beripattan RK Rathore unfurled the tricolour. R k Rathore was the chief guest of the occasion and Col. Madhvan Iyanger was the guest of Honour. It is worth mentioning here that this is the border of tehsil of district Rajouri. In total 25 Schools took part in the function. On the occasion of Republic Day, the BJP Kashmir Displaced District Tik Lal Taploo Mandal have organised a flag ceremony on the eve of 67th Republic Day at Jagti Township on 26th Jan 2016 hoisted national anthem with patriotic songs. The entire jagti peoples gathered with full charm on the occasion and celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm. |
