Businessman gifts DSP Rs 80,000 worth sofa set | | | Harish Chander Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 27: A DSP, who is at present posted at an important position in a district in Jammu region, has been gifted Rs 80,000 worth sofa set by a businessman. Earlier also, he was gifted costlier items by some businessmen, police sources said. "The DSP a few days back called up the man, who runs his business in the area that falls under his jurisdiction, and asked him to buy for him the sofa set which had selected in a particular furniture showroom. There was a delay of a day or two, following which he again called up the businessman and threatened him to keep a close watch on all his suspicious business activities. This worried him and he wasted no time in buying the sofa set for him," sources alleged. The sofa set cost Rs 80,000 and all the money was paid by the businessman, sources said. The DSP, who has also remained posted in Jammu, was a few months back transferred by the government in another police wing but utilising the services of a minister, he had managed his transfer to the place where he was posted now, sources said. |
