Harish Chander Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 27: A police officer of the rank of Deputy inspector General is so fond of liquor that he often asks his subordinates to supply him the best whisky from army canteens. He is at present posted in a Jammu region area where there are several army canteens. "He has told SHOs and other subordinates that they should bring with them canteen whisky whenever they wish to meet him," police sources said. This officer is also known in police circles for his habit of throwing lavish parties. "He often invites senior police officers from Jammu to attend his parties," the sources added. "Whenever he goes home, he carries with him several bottles of whisky. His driver does the work of collecting whisky for him," sources alleged. Even army officers knew he was fond of whisky and they too carried whisky for him whenever they "call on him for official meetings", sources said. The DIG, who is posted in the area since long, had remained in news sometime. |
