| GDC (Women) observes National Voters' Day | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Jan 27:- Government Degree College for Women today observed National Voters' Day in the campus in a brief but impressive programme wherein Prof. (Dr) Satinder Singh Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.
The students performed skits on the theme of voter's importance and their participation in the Electoral process.
Symposia as well as slogans writing competitions were also held in which 20 students took part and displayed their views for the importance of Vote to form the right government. Prof Saroop Chander , Prof Ram Murti and Prof Dhian Chand all retired professors acted as jury members.
The chief guest threw light on the role and importance of voter in democracy and impressed upon the young students to participate in the electoral process in large scale as country achieved democracy after many sacrifices. He also laid stress upon all the students to make aware the masses of their areas about their role in democracy.
On the occasion Cheques worth Rs 1.40 lacs were also distributed among 75 needy economically weak students out of the college financial aid fund. A large number of students and staff members were present in the function. |
